River North’s golf course opened in April of 1974, when Hall-of-Famer Gary Player was among the first foursome to play the inaugural round. The Player-designed course routs through the River North community; through pine woodlands, meandering creeks, & six lakes with an abundance of wildlife. The undulating topography and tree-lined fairways offer a challenge to players of all skill-levels. River North hosts one of the most unique finishing holes in Middle Georgia - the signature island fairway – a true risk-reward hole to finish your round.

Jim Bishop   Jim joined River North as the Head Golf Professional in August 2023 with over 32 years of experience in the golf industry. Jim has previously held positions at The Country Club of Columbus, Kinderlou Forest, The Brickyard Golf Club, and most recently Greystone Golf & Country Club in Birmingham, AL. Jim is passionate about golf instruction with players of all ages and skill levels. Jim aims to provide high levels of service to all members & guests to make their experience at River North nothing short of exceptional.
